What is RSS?
An RSS feed is a way to subscribe to a blog so that you will be able to see whenever a new post is made. All podcasts (outside of iTunes) also run on RSS, so your podcast client checks each feed you subscribe to a few times a day to see if there are new episodes.
An RSS reader will do the same thing, but for blogs. It’s a bit like Facebook or Twitter where you can check for new content, but there are no ads and the algorithm doesn’t decide for you what you should see.
I personally use Feedly as my RSS reader so I can read from a browser or on their pretty good phone app. But RSS is an open standard, so you can use any reader you want.
